Biography

Sherri started her racing career at age 15 in an All Pro Modified division at Varney Speedway, Varney, Ontario, Canada. She was the youngest and first female driver in the division. Her interest began when she was a young girl following her Father, Bob Hogan on his racing circuits and at an early age joined his pit crew. Sherri's great uncle was the well known Canadian racer, Ted Hogan who frequented many of the Southern Ontario and Western New York speedways in the early 1960's. He was the first ever short track stock car driver to be inducted into the Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame in 1995, some thirty years after his death.

Bob Hogan & his late model

While at Varney, Sherri won a few qualifying races and for the next 3 years raced various specials in Ontario including Flamboro Speedway, Sauble Speedway and Barrie Speedway.

In 1994, Sherri advanced to the NASCAR Pro Modified division at Holland International Speedway, Holland, New York in a 350 Chevrolet Cavalier bodied NASCAR Pro Modified stock car. She was looking for a bigger challenge and she found it at Holland Speedway.

For the next few years Sherri continued to learn and develope her racing skills and finished in the top 10 in points at year end many times.

Kathi & Sherri Hogan

2000 was a heartbreaking year as Sherri's mom, Kathi passed away after a long battle with cancer. A key member of the team, Kathi was promoter, public relations, secretary and always a wonderful woman. She is greatly missed.

It takes a lot of courage to go out and risk your life week after week but racing is in her blood and Sherri has been involved in many accidents as most racers are. Her car was destroyed in late July 2001 and for the 2002 season Sherri purchased a new 1996 Troyer Modified which brought her a first feature win in 2004 at Holland Speedway. In the 2005 Season at Lancaster Raceway she once again brought her sportsman modified to victory lane.

This year, Sherri's crew consists of: Her father Bob Hogan, her husband Aaron Wojtaszczyk, Mark & Sandy and family friends Mike Short and Stewart Adye-White.

2005 was a great year for Sherri as she finished her Rookie season at Lancaster Raceway Park 5th in points! She looks forward to a competitive 2006 season at Lancaster and to once again take her modified to victory lane.
